The Red Sox will barely make the playoffs

Boston is way too talented and also the American League has guess squads for me to pick against the Sox reaching the postseason. But it will be through the AL Wild Card spot, and the champs will not contact the World Series.
Why, you ask? Due to Chris Sale shoulder? Nathan Eovaldi’s October workload? Some sort of statistical blow for Mookie Betts and/or J.D. Martinez?
Nah. I just don’t believe your fans can break the World Series trophy having an abysmal beer can in the baseball gods without some type of penalty.
Bryce Harper will sign with the Cardinals
At this point, my head still says that Harper will end up with the White Sox or the Phillies. But together with me sinking fast this really is the prediction I made at the start of the Hot Stove season, and, damn it, I’m heading down with the ship.
I do maintain that the Cardinals have the resources to pull it off and will need to veer from an organizational path of solutions and half-measures. Paul Goldschmidt has been a fantastic get, but just for a single year (and he is 31). This club would be taken by harper to World Series-caliber squad from borderline National League Central contender.
